The mission of Light For Asia is to be the light of the world that Jesus has called us to be and to let that light shine before all men, women and children across the nations of Asia.
Our goal is to see the peoples of Asia repent and turn to the One True God so that their sins may be blotted out. (Acts 3:19) We long for the Nations to accept the salvation that is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12) We strive to make disciples who make disciples. (Matthew 28:18-20) We plant seeds and water seeds, praying desperately for the Father to bring the growth. (1 Corinthians 3:6) We serve in the fear of The Lord and declare His glory among the Nations! (Psalm 96:3)
Joseph met Sai on a mission trip to Thailand in 2003 while serving on staff at his church as the leader of the community ministries. In 2005, he felt God calling him to Thailand to serve full time in the city of Pattaya. During this time he reconnected with Sai at who was also serving in the city as a full time missionary. It soon became apparent to them both that God had led them to each other to serve Him together. They married January 1, 2006 and moved to the United States in April 2006 to begin Sai’s U.S. Naturalization process.
While in the United States, Joseph continued to serve God by working with a local Hispanic church and their youth. The York’s first child, Makaila, was born in 2007 and their son, Joshua, was born in 2010. It was at that time Joseph and Sai began to feel the call to return to Thailand and began to search for God’s will.
In May of 2012, Joseph and Sai sold everything and with the blessing and support of their family, friends and their home church, Beulah Baptist, they moved their family to Pattaya, Thailand as Lights for all of Asia!
